Our standards
A professional service, held to one.
Every Puppy Therapy™ Team meets the same standard, in every city.
Our guiding principle
“Puppies should be exposed to as many new people, animals, stimuli and environments as can be achieved safely and without causing overstimulation manifested as excessive fear, withdrawal or avoidance behavior.”
Puppy Therapy™ follows the puppy socialization guidance of the AVMA and AVSAB.
The professional
Certified Puppy Therapy™ Professional
Every team is led by a person we’ve trained and certified in puppy handling, session flow, hygiene, and care for the people in the room. Certification is ours, and we stand behind it.
Every professional is trained, certified, and background-checked each year.
The safety ratio
Small by design
One Certified Puppy Therapy™ Professional safely manages up to two puppies and eight people. Bigger groups get more sessions, never bigger ones.
Our puppies come from ethical breeders in good standing with an approved breeding organization.
Care and safety
Clean, rested, ready
- Reward-based handling only, and a sleeping puppy is never woken
- Puppies travel in a stroller and work on their own clean surface
- They never touch grass or areas used by unknown dogs
- An adult is always present with a child
- Bathed and brushed before every session
- Nails trimmed or covered with soft footies
- Water and rest breaks between appointments
- A small potty pen, and cleaning supplies for anything that happens
- Vaccines and deworming on a veterinarian-guided schedule
Your space
What we ask of you
Give the Puppy Therapy™ Team the same kind of space you’d give chair massage: a comfortable room or corner, not a hallway. When clients set the space well, the session rises to meet it. You’ll get a short setup guide with your confirmation.
What Puppy Therapy™ is, and isn’t
Puppy Therapy™ is a wellness service. The benefits of time with animals, like lower stress and better mood, are well documented, and that’s what a session offers.
It isn’t medical treatment, and it doesn’t replace therapy, counseling, or medical care. Our puppies are not therapy animals, service animals, or emotional support animals in the legal sense.
